Service Learning Reflection

The Service Learning Meeting was okay. My group was about tutoring. My mentor was Miss McMillian. We talked about what grade should we help when we tutor. Most of the meeting was confusing. The whole class really was sidetracked, other conversations was going on during the meeting. The whole meeting was unnecessary we really didn't achieve anything.

Service Learning Project

Process Paper

Dominique Gibson
Process Paper

We chose our topic by coming up with ideas that we liked for a NHD project. My group and me narrowed the projects down to two; they were the Philadelphia Black Mafia and the Male Perspective of the Philadelphia Female Anti-slavery Society. We gathered research on both of the societies and then asked some historians and teachers which do they think is least known about so people wont be able to know more about the project than we do and which one stands out more they all said the Philadelphia Female Anti-slavery Society. It was a society that most likely never talked history classes.

We started our research by starting on the Internet. We found a few things and when we found all we could find we turned to the teachers work. The teachers got us news articles and they gave us primary sources that were found from a museum. We went to two different places, The Historical Society of Pennsylvania and The Quaker Meeting House. This helped us out by meeting people who actually studied the Philadelphia Anti-Slavery Society. The Quaker Meeting House had a book on the PFASS that told us about the group in the eyes of Lucretia Mott. The book was called Valiant Friend The Life of Lucretia Mott. The Historical Society of Pennsylvania gave us the primary source documents we used for our annotations.

At first we were going to do a documentary, but we had a choice change to performance. We decide to change our project type because we thought if we did that it would be more creative than a documentary. We thought by doing a performance it would bring the project to life if we acted the Male Perspective of the PFASS out.

This project relates to the Conflict and Compromise theme because in our play we the audiences knowing what the conflict is and at the same time let them decide what they think would be the compromise. Whether the compromise was the burning happening an the PFASS meeting at new places or letting the Pennsylvania Hall burn and still responded with peaceful actions.

We chose this topic with many different ideas. Our research was a great help so that we could write our skit. The different topics were to well known so we chose something not many people didnt know too much about. The project really relates to the conflict part of NHD. We chose this topic because we really wanted to learn about something that will probably not be taught in history classes.

My final grade in English should be?

Throughout the whole year I've been working hard in English. English is one of my favorite subject in school. I really enjoy doing work in English class. English gives me excitement when i'm in class. I've always kept a passing grade in English since I was younger. The English course is almost to a end. My final grade in Mr. Romero's class should be great.

My final grade in Mr. Romero class should be at least a B or a B+. I believe my grade should be a B or a B+ because I've worked very well during this second card marketing. I've turned in all my work on time, and I know that I did good on all my work. I really deserve a good grade in English. I've never failed english and i'm not planning on to. So I feel that i should make my parents feel good by having good grades.

Philosophy Of Government II

Philosophy of Government II:
Does our constitution effectively resolve conflict?

Do you ever think about why our government is well organized. Constitution is why we are free and well organized. The real question is does our constitution resolve conflict in our society. The constitution does effectively resolve conflict in our society. The constitution does resolve conflict because every human being in the society should know what the constitution is about. The constitution is in our society so citizens can have freedom and for our society to be well organized . In the ideal society, the most significant topic was to have freedom. Freedom was the most important because the ichip did not give the opportunity to let people have privacy. The ichip had good and bad features. The good features about the ichip was the ichip gave the opportunity for citizens to control electronically devices. The bad features of the ichip was a citizen can be tracked and can be seen for every move. I believe the ichip is not a bad device. I certainly believe that the ichip should just be altered. If the ichip can be altered and have the things that our society wants. Then the ichip will be good. The ichip did not make a good electronic device because of the tracking device that was included. Okay the citizens that have the ichip do get $1,000 a year, but other than that the ichip is just unnecessary . In the ideal society the citizens protested against the ichip. The citizens got the media to initiate legislation to curtail the president’s power. The supreme court curtail the president to protect Americans first amendment rights.

In the ideal society the citizens protested about the ichip. Our society protested against the ichip because it was not a good device in our world. Ichip really caused troubles in the ideal society. The citizens came up with a petition to get rid of the ichip. The executive branch wrote a bill that the ichip will not be removed from the government that it will just be altered. When the citizens heard about the alternative expression on the ichip, citizens claimed that the president was a terrorist and was stealing ideas from China on the ichip. The president stated the ichip was optional, that every human being did not have to get the ichip. The citizens called conferences on the ichip with the executive branch. The media was also involved in the conferences with the citizens and the executive branch.

The citizens brought in the media to initiate legislation to curtail the president power. The media made more citizens of our society know about the ichip. There were more petitions made by the citizens to get rid of the ichip. The House of Representatives wanted to removed the ichip from being a item to the government. The only groups in the Constitution that really wanted the ichip was the House of Senate and the executive branch. The conferences really made things better with the ichip. The first and second conference made the executive create a bill stating that the ichip should not be removed. In the last conference, a lawyer and a citizen suggested that a human being died from the ichip. That made the case of Cooper vs. Apple Corporation.

The case Cooper vs. Apple Corporation really did not last long. The lawyer and the citizen had to go through the Congress and the House of Representatives to set the case. Going through all the effects, the case was just a waste of breath. The lawyer, the citizen, and the doctor for cooper’s death really did not have a decent case. The three of citizens did not state their words correctly. Apple Corporation trapped all the words that was said by the citizens. The citizens never had a chance winning the case. A little after the case of Malik Cooper and Apple Corporation, more of the society began to look at the ichip as a good device.

The constitution does effectively resolve conflict in our society. The constitution is here so us citizens can have freedom rights and to be well organized. In the ideal society the constitution really played a strong role. In the ideal society for the ichip, many groups of the constitution used the separation of powers and checks and balances. Their were many arguments for the ichip. Citizens complain about having the ichip, the House of Representatives were agreeing with the citizens. The House of Senate and the Executive branch came together to make bills to keep the ichip. The citizens declared a court case for the death of Malik Cooper. The citizens were suing Apple Corporation for the ichip that was put in Malik Cooper head the few days before he died. The case was not a decent case. The citizens did not state their points right. Apple took over and used good details about the death of Malik Cooper. After the whole Ideal Society, Freedom will be more important than security. The constitution does resolve conflict in our society.

Summary of Philosophy Of Government

Should we have a government in our country. Sure we should have a government in our country. I believe our country should have a government. Our society should have a government because we citizens will need to be organized, bring more peace, and have protection for our country. Our country will need a government because our nation need to be organized. We need make laws so our nation won't get out of control. We should set limitations to each law so there can be more peace. I strongly belive that we need limitaions for our nation. Also we will need protection for our country. We'll need protection for our country because say if another country want to declare with our country we won't have no military to protect or country. These our the three reasons why I know we need a government in our country.

Controversal Essay ( What Age should children be able to date.)

What age should children be able to date. Many people believe that it doesn’t matter what age they child should be able to date. I believe that children should be able to date when there are 16 or older. I believe children should start dating at the age of 16 because children at the age of 16 are mature and can handle there self. Also I believe that children should date at the age of 16 because the children can experience more things than they can do when there younger.

Should Huckleberry Finn be taught in CHS.

Did you ever hear of Huckleberry Finn? Huckleberry Finn is one of the best novels written by Mark Twain. Many people believe that Huckleberry Finn shouldn’t be taught in schools. People believe that Huckleberry Finn shouldn’t’ be taught because it express racial words in the book. I believe it should be taught because all students in all schools should experience a good literature like Huckleberry Finn. Huckleberry Finn used bad language, but words are words. Bad words shouldn’t stop people from reading this book. This story is a great novel, so I believe it should be taught in CHS.
