Between The Line Questions

Q.
Why Curly doesn’t like people who are bigger than him?

A.
In the story “Of Mice and Men” the character Curly is like the bully of the story. Curly is a short professional boxer who doesn’t like people who’s larger than him. Curly maybe doesn’t like bigger people because people larger than him probably bullied him when he was younger. When he got older he probably got sick of people bullying him and became a boxer.

Q.
What will George be without Lonnie?
A.
George and Lonnie are very close in the story. George looks after Lonnie most of the story. Lonnie causes trouble for George. George will probably be a better person without Lonnie. Because he wont get in much trouble like he did when he was with Lonnie. George maybe will have a family and live a good life, wont have to worry about getting beat up or murdered.

Q.
Why is Curly Wife so mysterious with Curly?
A.
Curly wife in the story is a sneaky and a flirty person. Curly wife is lonely and changes her ways when she gets around Curly. Why does she changes her ways when she gets around Curly. She probably don’t wont her husband to know that she like almost everyone on the ranch. Curly probably will beat on his wife if he found out that she was doing wrong. She tries to keep a low profile around her husband so she wont get into trouble with him.

Q.
Why is Crook unhappy most of the time?
A.
Crook is the only black man on the ranch. Crook doesn’t trust anyone around him on the ranch. He probably felt that he couldn’t trust anyone on the ranch because they probably took something from him or even harmed him and he doesn’t say anything about it. Also he’s probably just there to get his money so he can get out of there and start a life.

Beyond The Line Questions

Q.
How does the boss in the story relate to myself?
A.
In the story “Of Mice and Men” there’s the boss who George and Lonnie are working for. This character and myself have something in common. I can relate myself to the boss in the story. The boss in the story is short, organized, and not a fake person.

The boss was described as a short and fair person in this story. I myself can relate myself to the boss because I’m short and like to be fair with other people in my presence. The way the author described the boss was a lot common to me. The author described the boss a short and well dressed man who’s organized and about his work. I like to accomplish things early and be well organized.

It seems in the story that the boss doesn’t take anything from anybody. He seems to like keep to himself. I keep to myself most of my time too. I don’t like to deal with other people because I like to be in charge of everything. I only depend on myself and not other people. I like to stay organize with everything. I don’t like working with other people because sometimes people can just mess up everything with you. Also when George and Lennie arrived at the ranch late the boss took out a booklet and wrote something. That made it seem like the boss was organized and a very busy man. I like to be motivated and busy.

The boss in this story was real with everything. The boss told George and Lennie how he felt about them when they arrived at the ranch. I do the same exact thing as the boss. If somebody do something wrong I tell them about themselves. I don’t feel comfortable talking about people behind there back. I believe its dumb to talk about someone behind they back. That does nothing but start trouble and I really don’t have to be getting in trouble.

The boss wasn’t really a factor in this story. You’ll only hear from the boss once in this story. I really couldn’t relate myself to anyone else in this story. My personality was basically like the boss in this story. Everything the author described about the boss was almost exactly like myself.

Welcome To Constitution High School were there is no SPACE............

Students inn Constitution High School are starting to pile up like used paper. This school use to be an museum/research center called the Balch Technical Institute. This building has a limited amount of space. Why make this “not so big building” into a school. The students who attend this school won’t be able to fit in this building. This building doesn’t have enough rooms to make a school.

CONSTITUTION HIGH SCHOOL IS THE SMALLEST SCHOOL IN THE PHILADELPHIA CITY HALL AREA.

SPACE…….is very limited in Constitution High School. Constitution High School started with 96 students. Now this college prep school has over 300 students with less and less space each year. What is Con High going to do about the 90 to 100 students coming to this school in the late summer. Will Con High change the schedule and have more classes to adjust to the rising amount of students? Or will they branch out and use at their disposal new locations to accommodate these students?

Teachers who work at Con High such as Mr. Carpenter, Mrs. Thompson, and Mrs. Madhi are pretty much not sure what’s going to happen in a few months. Questions start to circulate like “will we have more opportunities for the students” or “how organize will the classes be”! Teachers at Con High believe some students will take classes at the National Constitution Center. How will this work out? How can teachers fix the schedule so the students can walk over there without losing any precious time teaching the students. The idea is pretty much not smart. Constitution High really needs to find a way for the new students to come in the supposed “college prep school”!!!

Constitution High School can be a better environment. This school need to just have everything organize beforehand and in place. Believe or not this school was not ready to join the ranks of other high schools around Philadelphia. This school wasn’t thinking about like “how will this school be in the future”. There are many questions asked about this school. Students ask questions like will this school build more classrooms to accommodate the students in the future or will this school be shut down in the near future? In the future this school will become a big horrible crowd of disaster. THIS SCHOOL SERIOUSLY NEEDS HELP!!!!!

Maturity ( Summer )

“ Knock Knock, who’s there? Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad I’m a banana? Umm…yea that was funny to me when I was like in the first grade. I don’t find the joke amusing like I did when I was younger. My maturity has grown over the years. Having to take care of my family by being the man of the house. Protecting my family and keeping us from falling apart. Searching for a job filling out various applications. Becoming responsible for the choices in my life.

Taking care of my sister and my mother is an everyday job for me. Having to do manly jobs like taking the thrash out, moving furniture, and fixing objects around the house. Being the only male in the house, I’m kind of use to it now. It’s been like that most of my life. I’d never had a father figure to teach me things and look over me. It’s okay, I still can be become a successful man without having a father. My family is the most important to me. Would do anything to keep my mother and sister happy and peaceful. The three of us bind and help each other out which makes our relationship stronger. We’re like a team that can never be split up no matter what goes down.

Lately, since I’ve grown older, I’ve been trying to find more opportunities than just playing video games and sports. I’ve been looking for a job so I can have something to do than just sitting around the house. I’d never thought of the day looking for a job. Searching for a good job and signing applications takes a lot of time. Most of the time is traveling to places. I guess those are the consequences of getting a job. When I get a job I’m going to be happy. Finally, would have something to do than just sitting around the house. Want to have some money in my pocket so I can at least buy my family a present to put a smile on their face.

Making choices in my lifetime is very easy. I was thought to not do drugs and not be an alcoholic when I was young. Besides I’d never really liked to play around with friends and get into any type of trouble. Why would I be those things anyways? I have a future ahead of me. Being a barber, a music producer, or playing basketball is the choices I’m making. Willing to do big things so I have to make the best choices. To maintain my dreams I have to be responsible. Not being responsible won’t get me nowhere in life.

Just an average man trying to live a good life, troubles come and go but, as the foundation of my family, I keep my mother and sister together. Never letting anything come between the three of us. When it comes to women they are my number one priority. Finding more opportunities than just sitting around the house, I’ve tried to look for a job. Getting a job will seriously make my inside glow with joy. Putting a huge smile on my mother face will make me feel like a man. Responsibility has really made me make good choices in my life. In my younger years I was thought respect. My respect has made me a good man.

National History Day Reflection

This National History Day project I've learned a lot about my character Christopher Columbus. I'd never knew that Christopher Columbus was a horrible person. When I was younger I learned that Christopher Columbus was an good navigator and a good historical person. This year change my whole view on Christopher Columbus. Christopher Columbus was a murderer who enslaved innocent people. This was a good experience for me this year on Christopher Columbus. I've really learned a lot this year on National History Day, I've learned to choose your partners wisely and always have fun at the end of the day.

This National History Day project was more difficult than last year. We didn't have a lot of time like we had last year. It was difficult to find a historical individual person. The theme for National History Day was a lot more confusing than last year. Last year for my National History Day project I work with three other including myself. This year we did the same but it was harder for my group to keep in touch because we all was split up into different classes. My group was very busy during National History Day time. Basically we had to be successful in our project and get it done we had to meet after school on our own time.

This National History Day change a lot than last year. The teachers in our school are more strict than last year. The teachers push the students more than last year. Also almost everyone in our school came out with a beautiful project. Last year the project looked like there were was no a lot of effort into the project. National History Day was very good this year new people and new ideas was in our school spirit. It felt good to work hard for an excellent project.
